The news is relentless. The economy feels uncertain. Political tension is thick. And somewhere underneath it all, there's this collective fear—this weight that seems to press down on everyone, whether you're paying attention or not. You feel it. Maybe you're waking up with anxiety. Maybe you're scrolling through your phone and suddenly feel drained. Maybe you're picking up on other people's stress without even realizing it. That's not weakness. That's sensitivity. And right now, sensitivity is both a gift and a burden. Here's what I want you to know: You don't have to absorb the world's heaviness to be a good person. You don't have to carry everyone else's fear to be compassionate. And you absolutely don't have to dim your light because the darkness feels loud. What you *do* need is a way to stay grounded, protected, and connected to your own power while everything around you feels chaotic. That's what I'm sharing with you today. ## The First Thing: Name What's Real Before we do anything else, let's be honest. Yes, things are heavy. Yes, there's real uncertainty. Yes, collective fear is real—and your nervous system is picking up on it. That's not you being dramatic. That's you being human. The spiritual bypass of "just think positive" doesn't work here. We're not pretending the weight doesn't exist. We're learning how to hold it differently. ## Practice 1: The Boundary Breath (2 minutes) This is my go-to when I feel the collective weight pressing in. It's simple, and it works. **How to do it:** 1. Sit or stand with your feet on the ground. 2. Breathe in for a count of 4, imagining a golden or white light filling your body. 3. Hold for a count of 4. 4. Breathe out for a count of 6, imagining any heaviness, worry, or energy that isn't yours leaving your body. 5. Repeat 5-10 times. The longer exhale signals your nervous system that you're safe. The visualization reminds your energy field where the boundary is—what's yours to carry, and what isn't. ## Practice 2: Cord Cutting (5 minutes) You're probably energetically connected to more people and situations than you realize. News cycles. Social media. Worried friends. Your own anxiety about things you can't control. All of these create invisible cords that drain your energy. Cord cutting isn't about disconnecting from people you love. It's about releasing the unhealthy attachments and the energy you're carrying that isn't yours. **How to do it:** 1. Close your eyes and visualize yourself in a safe, peaceful place. 2. Imagine any cords—thick or thin, dark or bright—connecting you to situations, people, or fears that are draining you. 3. See yourself holding a sword, scissors, or light. Cut each cord with intention. 4. Watch the cords dissolve or return to their source. 5. Fill the space where the cord was with golden light. 6. Say: "I release what isn't mine to carry. I reclaim my energy. I am protected." Do this as often as you need to. Daily is fine. Some days, multiple times. ## Practice 3: Grounding Through Your Feet (1 minute, anytime) When you feel scattered or overwhelmed, your energy is probably floating somewhere above your body. Bring it back down. **How to do it:** 1. Stand barefoot on the earth if possible (grass, soil, stone). If not, just press your feet firmly into the ground. 2. Imagine roots growing from the soles of your feet deep into the earth. 3. Feel the earth's stability supporting you. 4. Take three deep breaths and notice how different your body feels. This takes 60 seconds and it's one of the most powerful resets you have. ## Crystals for Right Now If you work with crystals, these are my recommendations for this specific energy: - **Black tourmaline or obsidian**: Protection and grounding. Keeps your energy field clear. - **Amethyst**: Calms anxiety and connects you to higher perspective. - **Citrine**: Raises your vibration and reminds you of your own power. - **Hematite**: Grounds you fast. Or just keep it in your pocket as a reminder that you're protected. ## An Affirmation for Today Say this when you wake up, before bed, or whenever you need it: "I am grounded in my own power. I feel what's real, but I don't carry what isn't mine. My energy is mine to protect. I choose peace. I choose light. I am safe." ## The Real Work None of this is about pretending the world is fine. It's about remembering that *you* are fine. Your nervous system is safe. Your energy is yours. And you have the power to protect it. The world needs your light right now.
