You don't need a fancy bathtub. You don't need $50 bath salts. You don't need a two-hour window of uninterrupted silence, though that would be nice.
A ritual bath is just a bath with intention. That's it.
Here's how to start:
Pick your intention. What do you need right now? Calm? Clarity? To let go of something? Protection? Start there. Everything else flows from that choice.
Choose 1–3 ingredients that match:
- Calm: lavender, chamomile, Epsom salt
- Cleansing: sea salt, rosemary, lemon peel
- Love / self-worth: rose petals, pink Himalayan salt, hibiscus
- Protection: black salt, bay leaves, eucalyptus
- Abundance: cinnamon sticks, orange peel, basil
Set the mood. Light a candle. Put your phone in another room. Play something soft or sit in silence, whatever feels right for you.
Get in with presence. As you step into the water, say your intention out loud or in your head. “I’m releasing what no longer serves me.” “I’m calling in peace.” Keep it simple and honest.
Soak for at least 15–20 minutes. Let the water do its work. Breathe. Cry if you need to. Laugh if that comes up. Just be in it.
When you're done, let the water drain while you're still in the tub. Visualize whatever you're releasing going down with it. Step out feeling lighter.
That’s a ritual bath. No gatekeeping. No expensive supplies. Just you, water, and intention.
